MPGN is in a group called glomerulonephritis where the immune system damages the kidney. People use different names depends on location in the kidney. The Glomerulus filtering unit of the kidney is about the size of a pinhead. It’s made up of membranes (which are capillaries that filter the blood) and supporting structure called mesangium shows signs of proliferation as a response to injury. Doctors do not know what causes MPGN. Treatment is not easy to treat and usually doctors treat the underlying condition of the disease.
